Default Dennis Carpenter, R.I.P.

Saw on Carpenter's Facebook page that Dennis had passed yesterday. Always enjoyed visiting with him at Hershey. One day he called me at my dealership and we had a great 45 minute conversation. He did a lot for the hobby.

True blue guy. He really liked driving his '36 Phaeton at Charlotte.

Dennis did a lot for the hobby with his repo parts that kept a lot of old Fords on the road. He was a great supporter of the Early Ford V-8 Club and the Early Ford V-8 Foundation. RIP Dennis.

Very sad to hear that Dennis is gone. Met him several times at Hershey. Carpenter's reproduction parts were one of the best, and I always prefer them.

Thank you, Dennis, for all that you did for us and for me personally: your advice and assistance, your kindness and patience will never be forgotten. The signed poster, second row, right side, is framed and hanging in my garage.
God speed Dear Friend; blessings and condolences to the family.

Super guy in all respects. Always came by and chatted at our flea market spaces. Bought and sold lots from him. I used to do all the bearing work on his early poured main bearing engines when they were in the engine selling business. RIP

Sat next to Dennis by accident at the Ford Piquette Plant luncheon at the 2018 Nats at Dearborn. I'm sure he was not feeling well at that time as he was very quiet. The irony of it all was we were all wearing ID tags supplied by Bob Drake! Of course I still have mine. R.I.P. Dennis.... Bill

Yeah RIP Dennis. I bought my first ever resto parts from you when I had to mail an order away with a postal order and had to wait 3 or so months for the stuff to arrive down here at the "ass end of the world"..... then the internet arrived and made it easier. Thanks for your great Service.

Over many decades I enjoyed visiting with Dennis at Hershey every year. He was thoughtful, sincere and an absolute gentleman. His fondness for old Fords and own outstanding collection was deep and his knowledge vast. He made a major contribution to our interest with his high quality reproductions. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Dennis would always say hello to me at a national meet and Hershey. He would ask about my parents as well. I can count how many times I've met him and i told him how I was impressed that he always remembered me despite the large number of people e comes in contact with in a year. He has left a legacy we can all respect.
