Default OVERHEAD CAM Model A/B

Last evening my neighbor & friend stopped by with a 32 Ford Roadster on a trailer. A very nice fenderless roadster hot-rod.
It had a Model B block with a dual overhead cam setup. The cams are driven by Gilmer type belts. The casting seemed to be well done, along with the cam covers themselves.
It has a 5 main crank & a 5 main girdle, fully pressurized & maybe dry-sumped
Has 2 Weber carbs on the driver's side.
I saw no name on the head.
It was purchased thru someone's estate in Norcal.
Just wondered if anyone has seen something like this?
The owner said that supposedly 10 of these heads were produced.
Oh, the water pump is remote & fan is electric.
That's about all I can remember.

Regards
Jim

Sounds like an REM head. A picture would be good. If so Steve Nelson went 201.78 mi.
per hr. at Boneville with one on his car.

There's a website with a bunch of pictures of various OHV/OHC Model A/B engines. Can't remember the name right now though.

If you want to go really fast then I can see the justification of the complex improvements, but surely one of the attractions of the Model A is its simplicity, and one can double the original horsepower with relatively simple improvements whilst retaining the side valve configuration?

Steve has gone over 200 MPH in that car, I think it has more than double the original HP.

I've wondered what ever happened to all the A's in the 40's, 50's, 60's that had OHV conversions on them...................

We have a F.A.S.T. hill climb in Auburn, CA on October 6th. You just might see one of the cylinder heads you saw in your friends '32. I know you will see lots of very fast A's and go away with a bad case of "BANGER OVERLOAD" Check out our web site for more info. See you there!

Jim,

The Flyer says November 4. Are you taking your speedster?
