Vendor praise[for a change]
So often all you read on most forums are negative discussions about vendors.I reciently had 2 very positive experiances which I woud like to post.I had clutch problems with my 51 Ford.I called Fort Wayne Clutch to order a rebuilt clutch assy.I discussed the problem with them they thought it was linkage related not the clutch. They were dead on.I found the problem, but after removing the trans.I decieded to replace the clutch assy anyway.I ordered the clutch Tues afternoon and it was delivered Fri morning.WOW is that good service or what!!!I found the Thro out brg.hub retention spring to be damaged and the fork modified,so I ordered them from Shoe Box Ford Parts in Okla.on tues. after noon. They also arrived on Fri. morning.I wish all the parts suppliers would be a prompt.Phil

Phil,
My experience has been the same as yours. These are two companies that are a credit to the old car hobby and should be patronized whenever possible. Kudos to both for being there for us!!! Chuck |

Re: Vendor praise[for a change]
I bought a cluth/pressure plate maybe 18 months ago from Ft Wayne. Only recently did I put it all together and it turns out I used the wrong flywheel which created a few problems for me. I called Ft Wayne and the problem was solved over the phone. The second part of that problem was fixed today over the phone with VAn Pelt and I should have my parts Monday.

Re: Vendor praise[for a change]
we have to be thankful for all our vendors out there, even the one's that don't always please us, they usually make up for it on something else.(sometimes) I find that the smaller businesses usually do a great job with customer service and quality products, but they also don't have to resort to huge phone sales people and hundreds of orders a day as the big 3 suppliers do. Like Ken say's we "praise" all the vendors that make it possible to restore our old Fords with more than one choice for quality vendors.

I'm in the same spot you are. Sent my clutch to Fort Wayne a couple of Fridays ago, got a call the following Tuesday afternoon that it was finished. Installed transmission and torque tube / rear end yesterday, tying up all of the loose ends today. Really impressed with the Fort Wayne folk's service. Joe |

Yes, Those are Awesome kits! I started out using his brake kit on my 37, but eventually changed the rear end and trans. I will have to say his kit fit perfectly and it was always a pleasure speaking with him.

Re: Vendor praise[for a change]
Mine too Phil.......tested it this morning. I'd also like to add I've received great service from some of the other smaller dealers on here including Uncle Max, Skip Haney, and Jim Linder (Bubba). It would be hard to keep this stuff running without people like this.

The early Ford store CA,and Baxter Ford. They had many hard to find parts for my AV8 project and gave helpful advice. Also many other vendors are a boon to the hobby.

Re: Vendor praise[for a change]
Don't forget Vanpelts (great service). But like someone said above I'm glad ANYONE is willing to reproduce parts for 70+ year old vehicles.
