Default Posies Front Spring install 1937

Installing a Posies front spring in my 37 ford. I have the assembled axle w / spring raised up into the front crossmember, but I think I might be missing something. It appears that I only have 2 flat bars to bolt to the 2 front crossmember ubolts. These will not tighten down on the spring as it appears the posies Spring assembly is not as thick as the Original. Old cotter pin holes not even close to the nut.
Thanks
Mike

I think most Posie springs are a thinner material than early Ford springs and require a spacer? On all the customer chassis I build I provide a 3/8th spacer withe spring clamp.

I weld a piece of flat bar to each clamp so they just clear the crossmember when tightened. I also usually have to add a spacer (or washers) on the u-bolts so cotter pin hole comes out right.
