Default ‘40 radiator Air deflector

My’40 convertible is missing this part. Thankfully, it’s reproduced, so I can order one. My question is, what type of fasteners were used to attach it to the base of the grill? Screws or bolts? Thanks, Sid

Sid are you talking about the pan below the radiator? The one below the radiator uses the two radiator mounting bolts and the front part of the deflector bolts to the bottom of the grille chin pan. My car is a '40 standard.

1/4" and I used a rubber washer on the bottom side with a flat washer for movement and vibration.

Can't let this one slip by. The same cad plated, self tapping, washer bolts in 1/4"- 20 threads are used in several places for sheet metal and brake line brackets. They are now available in zinc and stainless with the wrong 3/8" head size, as from Third Gen. The Ford part number and description is found in Kube's book. I found scores of them in "natural" rust finish, in my dad's fastener department. I wish I had known early on, how many would be needed in cadmium, like a hundreds of other fasteners, instead of painting the rusty originals black. Too late smart. I'm not going back yet. Good Luck: Fred A
