WD40 as hand cleaner
Wondering if I am the only one that uses WD40 for cleaning the grease off my hands?

Re: WD40 as hand cleaner
I use borax and dish washing soap.
BTW, WD-40 makes a good under arm deodorant too! :-) |

Re: WD40 as hand cleaner
I’ve used wd-40 for cleaning greasy hands, it also helps arthritic hands! Mostly use it for cleaning bugs and tar off of paint

Re: WD40 as hand cleaner
I think that Dawn dish soap and warm water is easiest on your hands and is inexpensive , works very well especially with a small brush. Gojo is good but if you tend to use water to remove it and the dirt rather than a paper towel or a rag, sooner or later you will be needing to clean your drain as it can gum up the drainage path.

Re: WD40 as hand cleaner
I like Tub o’Towels. Great for removing oil/grease/dirt from hands and other objects without water. I do use WD40 as a solvent when cleaning machine parts that the water-based parts cleaners struggle with.

Re: WD40 as hand cleaner
I have never used WD-40 BUT automatic transmission fluid works well for the worst oily grime that I have gotten into. Then clean with hand cleaner.
BTW, penetrating oils like PJ Blaster do a good job of cutting into the grime on parts before cleaning with something else. I suppose WD-40 would be similar to this. |

Re: WD40 as hand cleaner
I buy it by the gallon. Hand cleaner- yes! Tar remover-yes. Pentrating oil-yes. Displaces moisture and leaves a protective film.

Re: WD40 as hand cleaner
If WD40 does what it is supposed to do, displace water, what is it doing to the moisture in your skin?
