Ford owned Lincoln since the 1920’s..my point is though we all admire the car, Ford Motor built them for a profit,the cash demands on Ford was huge…payroll weekly at the Rouge was paid in cash at the time of the A 80000 men worked there alone, not to mention the assembly branches..and then you have operating costs and supplies..

Ford was smart with money..banks would lend dealers cash to buy inventory, Ford would then lend the cash from the dealers back to the banks, to keep the wheel turning..all the while earning interest, money on the money that will come to them.
