Default Anything I should do before put brakes back together?

My 1929 Roadster is up on four jack stands and I'm almost ready to start putting the brakes back together. While I have the wheels off is there anything else I should do or check before putting it back together? Thanks, Jim

Wheel bearings and races, replace or repack in fresh grease.

A good time to give the underside of the fenders a good cleaning.

Check that the wiring, especially the wires running to the rear lights, are held firmly in the clips to the frame.

Good time, if needed, to change the oil, transmission fluid and differential fluid while you have clearance under the chassis.

Check the battery cables and the frame ground. Tight, clean, a spray of battery post protection spray is nice.

Brake rods straight, no corrosion. Same with the anti rattlers.

Muffler and tailpipe clamps in good order, bolts tight, etc.

Anything else that is made easier by having the car elevated.

King pins, steering arm balls, pitman arm tight to the steering box.

Well i assume when you say put the rear brakes back on you repaired/replaced everything that was worn correct?

Check drums for score marks, if you have a large enough caliper check to make sure the drums are mostly square to the axle (meaning it doesnt get thinner/larger as you go across the brake surface where the shoes ride)

Check and make sure ear axle oil is staying in the rear axle or it will ruin your shoe material.

Check for rear axle bearings being loose and fitment of everything as you assemble.

Biggest thing is DONT RUSH! Do one wheel at a time and dont get the parts mixed up.

Also do what others have said already
