Pet Peeve no 1: Squirrelly Parts Houses..... I wont mention names.....

Pet Peeve no 2: Squirrelly repair shops ..... but there some real good ones .

Pet Peeve no 3: Guys who will come up and tell me how the "rodded" an A.

Pet Peeve no 4: Did you drive that here?

Pet Peeve no 5: Some son of a gun will leave my drivers door swinging open after looking at the car when it's parked and I'm eating lunch.

Pet Peeve no 6. Same as above except its the Motometer which is screwed down hard. But they try to take it bend it.

I'll stop......

I'm with Tom W. and the others who don't mind if asked. Asking the cost is one of the "Buying signs" that indicate interest. The person is interested and is curious about the costs. Whether or not they follow through pretty much depends on a lot of subsequent factors. But at that moment, he likes what he sees and he's wondering. I never saw the presumed "rudeness" of asking the cost of something. What do you want, for me to remain in the dark and stupid?

Those who refer to the "zero" ("0") as an "Oh" (the letter O) when citing a number...I do it...we all do it!

Such as A390..."A-Three-Nine-Oh".

BTW, the other day I bought a nice older Delta/Rockwell jointer/planer with factory stand and motor and even a dust collector for $24. This was at a second hand store, and I just happened to be at the right place at the right time. It even has a RED V belt.
I invented a fun reply when asked "What did it cost you" while filling up at a gas station:

"Well, a little old lady hired me to clean out her garage, I found this in it under a pile of boxes. When I asked her about it she replied that goes too.
I charged her $200"
