Wow Franchise 24, now tell us what you really think!

I don't believe that anyone here is bashing with hurtful intent. The folks who have contributed to this and other threads are sharing experiences they have had.
And as the saying goes...Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice shame on me.
"for me I have ordered from Sacramento Vintage Ford only once and will never order from them again.

If the new owners of Macs want to compete for anyone's business then they will have to work for it. And the survey seems to be a step towards improving.

As Richard Dawson would announce:

SURVEY SAYS:

Love = 10
Hate = 20
Neutral or just bashed each other, not Macs = 15

(so far)

I have brought a bit of stuff from Macs. Never had any issues - sometimes slow to ship, because something was out of stock... BUT they let me know it would be delayed a week, and shipped my whole INTERNATIONAL order together, instead of leaving out the bits.

I used them, because the other US based places I contacted NEVER EVER replied with shipping costs after I emailed them with the list of parts I wanted. I have never heard from them, and that has been many months (NO, it's not in my junk folder, I check it every day!)

They also had all the bits I wanted at the time, where some of the other places only had bits and peices, so I'd have to do multiple orders (Gets expensive with international shipping)

I do have contacts for some good places here in NZ now though, and will buy most things here (where possible).

i have ordered 3 times in the last few months of about 300 dollars
per order. never ordered else where because they are in newyork
state and i have shipped to newyork border at odgensburg and am in
canada only 15 minutes from border and pick up there.
i have shipments in 3 days after phone order.
shipping cost around 30 dollars i wondered if that was in line with
other companies.

new at ordering and first time ordering parts ever.

Like Fredski, I have made 3 orders from Mac's, all around $500. Have not ordered from elsewhere, simply because I am new to my Model A.

I have concerns about Mac's business practices, in that thier prices are almost ALWAYS higher than Snyder's or Bratton's or Mike's. They have a lot of "specials", but these just bring the price close to the regular prices everywhere else. Also, I am dismayed that they have monthly "sales" which they email to me, causing me to order parts, but only to find out that the very next month, they put the same part on special in a different sale for even less than the "sale" price the month before. In November, I ordered parts for 10% off, only to find that in December, the same parts were 15% off. Even at 15% off, they were just coming down to Snyder's or Bratton's regular price. I think that this is deceptive.

I completed the email survey, but it had nowhere to indicate this concern - it was all "yes" or "no" questions, or ratings from 1-5. I hope somebody from Mac's is reading this - you need this feedback from a person who has given you over $1500 in business in the past 2 months, but will likely shop elsewhere in the future.

Seems like this horse is dead and been kicked a lot. May need another one to start on. Must not be much going on out there to spend so much time on this subject!

Anyone that has a wife that frequents the fabric stores knows that ploy. My wife just goes ape over those 50% off sales. All that means to me is that it's priced too high in the first place!

Re: Mac's Antique Auto Parts has been SOLD
Hello --Darlene Waldmiller, Marketing Manager of MAC's, posting for Rick McIntosh of MAC’s:
Yes, MAC’s was acquired by Eckler’s as of today (11/1/12) however business as usual for MAC”s and are 120 employees in Lockport.
It the goal of both companies owners to “do no harm” to MAC’s or MAC’s employees all the while increasing our customers satisfaction.
Both Randy and I (owners of MAC’s) are also part owners of Eckler’s and we are not going anywhere. I am very excited, both personally and for MAC’s,
by the opportunity to join the Eckler’s team. We believe that our new combined company will bring together unsurpassed resources and experience to offer
an outstanding customer value and service experience. Our shipping time has been too slow of late, but we are working on that. We have recently
put in place a faster processing method to help move orders out the door more quickly. We believe we will be able to serve all Ford restoration
enthusiasts with the broadest, most complete selection of Ford parts available in the new combined company. We look forward to the opportunity
to continue to grow and broaden the company for our customers as part of the Eckler’s team.
Feel free to reach out to me ([email protected]) or Darlene ([email protected]) if you have questions, comments or concerns
about the acquisition or any customer service concerns.
Happy Motoring,
Rick McIntosh

I heard back from Mac's about the link I sent them for this thread. Don't know how they plan to restore all the hard feelings but here is there reply;

"Thank you Mike. I am working on researching the issues and customers.

I appreciate the feedback.

Happy motoring."

re: Mac's- the first supplier I dealt with after buying our first model A in 1986.
never had any customer service issues, just dissatisfied with quality of parts.
switched to Bratton's and never looked back.

re: this thread- just like the Bratton's thread, there's equal opportunity for likes and dislikes to be posted. I don't see any double standard.......

Franchise,

While some of us give Macs a thumbs down here, we are not speaking up about the specifics of our transactions with Macs that gave bad service, changing prices after the order was given and the who gives a hoot attitude. The Model A Highway has it's bad curves and Macs is one of them for me.

Below is a response from Matt Jordan, CEO of Eckler Industries;
posted by Darlene Waldmiller, Marketing Manager at MAC’s:

We appreciate the candid feedback from everyone. This helps us prioritize and focus our efforts at making MAC’s a better company. We’re working hard to put into place new systems and procedures that will speed up shipping and improve service levels. While I can’t promise that the transition will be without snags or hitches, I can promise that we are focused on driving improvement. I hope that those who are satisfied with MAC’s performance will find their service much better, and those that have not had a good experience will give us the opportunity to show what we can do over the coming months.

Thank you again for your honest feedback – we sincerely hope to use this to make for a better customer experience.

Regards,

Matt D. Jordan
CEO, Eckler Industries, Inc.
