Re: First Spring Drive in The Merc
Welding takes practice to make great looking welds. I own 3 welders, a old craftsman stick, a 110 mig with flux core and a 180 amp mig. with 80/20 cover gas with .30 wire for body panel repair. Each has a use, the little 110v mig. has come in handy because I've taken it with me and have welded thin metal like mower decks. It will also run on a short 12ga cord.
P.S. Good to see the snow has melted up your way.

Re: First Spring Drive in The Merc
one thing I learned is on my miller you have to change the polarity when you go from flux core to straight wire with gas. I find the gas works well with .023 wire on all the sheet metal I weld. of coarse some of that is kind of thin or in some cases non existant, I have to fill in the blank spots if you know what I mean. Anyway good luck with your project and the new welder.
