Default Head-scratcher?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-FLATHEA...a68dc5&vxp=mtr

So here we have a 239 bored 1/8", stock crank, 8CM cam, a Merc 8CM head on one side and an 8BA on the other, with 2x2's, and it's putting out 216 HP!? I must be doing something wrong??

I think he had a 100 HP misprint. Possibly has a keen imagination too.

You guys are missing the magic ingredient -- the spray bomb orange paint. Always good for an extra 100 horses! dw

Come on you guys.... has anyone considered that the seller might be dyslexic. Could be that 126 looks like 216 to him, just sayin'. And maybe, just maybe the mismatched heads are the secret. I have never tried that.

You forgot to read the fine print "intake pictured not included"
That's where all the horsepower comes from!

Kinda reminds me of a story from an American buyer touring a Chinese factory he was planning to order electric motors from...
He was touring the assembly line for 2 and 4 HP motors with the manager, watching 2 HP motors go together down the line...at the end, the last worker was taking decals that said "2HP" from a box and slapping one on each motor. The American asked the manager to describe the difference between the 2HP and 4HP motors, but before the manager could answer the worker at the decal bench, without even looking up, reached into a second box under his bench and slapped a "4HP" on the next motor...

I just screwed up & lost 100Hp as I couldn't stand the orange some yokel painted this engine & applied some green.

Maybe he is related to the guy I got the "show quality " wiring harness from. That description of the motor is hilarious.

A colleague was trying to by a really nice high end used car for his wife. The dealers original offer sheet said "new tires". When he looked at the car (Beamer) and got ready to close the deal he asked about the new tires (what was on the car were obviously not new) and was told they were new...
New to that car! So my point is the devil is in the details. Anybody with dyno experience can juice a printout! However a good flattie might approach 200 HP on nitro!

I always thought the extra horsepower was from red paint and chrome!
Now I've got to repaint my engine!

You gota admit, it's very entertaining to hear all this. Unfortunately, some body might buy it. Now I have to re paint my green engine too.
