Default 34 p/u grill

Hi,
Actually two questions, first, Is the small hole in the top of the shroud right below the radiator fill hole supposed to be round or some other shape. See the picture. Second, are all four radiator to shroud brackets identical. I only have one but can make more if they are the same. Thanks, Al K.

The hole in the top of the shell is a stamped horse shoe shape with a 3/16 hole in the bottom. The brackets are not matched there is one for the top and one for the bottom are,

What you are referring to is more correctly called a grill. A shroud generally applies to a metal piece that fits on the back side of the radiator and has a large hole in the center, the same size of the fan blade, the purpose being to direct all of the air the fan pulls through the radiator is directed to the center of the radiator for optimum air flow and cooling. I do not believe a shroud would be original equipment for a 34 Ford.

Thank you for all the replies and corrections, wink. I would assume then that the hole that I am concerned about has some sort of fastening device in it to secure the emblem.

Can someone provide a sketch or measurements for the upper bracket?
Thanks, Al K

The mounting brackets for the 1933-34 Ford pickup (commercial) grille shell have been reproduced. The set of hardware is available from many parts suppliers. Just Google 1934 Ford pickup grille and look in images. You'll see them.

Thanks for the tips. Will search for them.
Thanks for the screw info. Not having the emblem yet made it difficult to picture why the hole was there.
