Looking at the damage, did the BMW clip the A's rear driver's side fender causing the A to flip on it's side?

BMW is at fault of course but some type of extra lighting on the back of A, as many here often suggest, may have helped avoid this.

It appears that the Ukrainian news web site copied the story and photos from the Facebook page of the New Kingstown (Penn.) Fire Department! That is funny.

Just goes to show that when you put something on FB, it is out there to be used, abused, borrowed, stolen by anyone in the world without your control. That is one reason I have deleted my Facebook account after removing all material from it.

Does anyone know if the Model A did roll on it's side? It looks like it impacted against something in the front, and that buckled the frame/body.

That is such a shame. With so many Amish buggies in the area it seems that people driving should be able to negotiate a slower moving vehicle a bit safer!

My experience ...BMW drivers think that they are "special" and thus have road priority!!!

Sure doesn't look like it, not much damage on the wood of the body. All things considered it looks like the A took it well. I hope the driver makes a speedy recovery.

From the damage all I can think is that the BMW was coming the other way and veered into his lane, over corrected and ended up in the ditch. Cell phone probably had something to do with it.

All part of the deal, you drive them they will get hit by something..bugs,stones or other cars. Today there are many people on the road who dont care a bit about an old car, they only care that you are in their way.

A stock model a has no tools for defense in modern traffic conditions.Acceleration too slow, braking not efficient enough, lighting poor.you end up relying on the other drivers tolerance for your shortcomings.

In the picture do you see the young woman on the phone through the drivers door window? that's what you are up against..

I wonder why that is?

Brings to mind the old joke;

What is the difference between a porcupine and a BMW ?

The porcupine has the pricks on the outside and the BMW has the pricks on the inside.

Photo 1 shows a cross street coming in from the left ...

OR maybe there is a curve there, can not tell.

Why is the A always assumed to be in the right?
Maybe he pulled out in front of the BMW!

They also hit mennonite and amish buggies. People have too many distractions while driving and just aren't paying attention.
