Default Distributor Coil Location

If the Ford coil were mounted directly on top
of my 41 distributor, & now have a tube type.
Just how far away might it start to be a problem...
52”. Is it OK to locate it back up on the cooler F.W. ?
Thank you fellas.

It can be a reasonable distance, but the firewall might be a bit to far. The temp should not be that much of an issue. The early coils were on top of the front mounted distributor and the later ones near the top front of the engine or up around the heads.
