Just checking on fitment of the uni to the trans.output shaft ,i have a small amount of movement on the spline side to side ,the uni would be more likely to wear i would think ,this is without the bolt in position,do new unis have movement ,,thanks ,,Rod,,

Is this "small" movement barely perceptable, or can you see it flop around--??
If it is barely perceptable it is probably in the range of normal, the thick washer (don't forget to have the tang drop into a spline) and bolt clamp the assembly together.
The U-joint cross needs to slide side to side a good distance, but should have barely perceptable rotational play.

Both ends of the U-joint should have a nice slip fit on the splines-any more & it will be working on the splines & may loosen the thick washer over time.
