Default rear shock clearance to body

found the rear of our coupe has no shocks installed so i found a pair but looks like i will have to trim a bit of the inner fender to allow the shock to bolt up ,is this normal or is the body too low , not fussed if i have to trim ,it will be hidden behind the wheel ,,

Not normal...you should never have to trim anything on the body in order to make something fit IF the body was put on the chassis correctly and if the body "area" for which you want to trim is in original condition.

You may not have original Model A Ford Shocks!???

See what is wrong first before you start hacking away BUT as they all say "It is your car and you can do what you want to do".

Has your body drooped, or your body blocks, (the wooden ones) gone soft?

The bigger question is, ...has the inner fender panels been replaced? The ones that come from Texas do not have the correct bends in them and many people incorrectly install these without knowledge on how they are supposed to be.

Nope, that is why we just resort to making them ourselves.
