Default Replacing grease wide 5 front drums

I cleaned up real nice set of wide five front drums. I had to scoop out what seemed like a 1/2 of a tube of grease out of each one. I cleaned up the bearings and plan pack them and reinstall them with a new seal.
My question is is the cavity between the bearings supposed to be full of grease?
Thanks

No, just grease the bearings. Filling the center cavity does nothing and is just a waste of grease.

i use the center of the hub to wipe the excess grease off my fingers. edge of dust cap works good for that too

The grease hadn’t seen the light of day for a long time. It was very black and seemed different from modern wheel bearing grease

You know, it IS entirely possible that grease is approaching 85 years old. DD

fill the center between the cups up to the level of the cups as ford dont use close tolerance slingers in their hubs then fill the cap before reinstalling also fill the back of the seal before installing . see timken's pages for a better set of guides as to install and setup

You could always bottle it and sell it on ebay as vintage.

Are these the Timken Grease Guidelines mentioned above?
