Re: tail lights
the last Indian was built in 1953. all the newer ones are badge-built imposters. I don't think that tail light was factory fitted to any Indian. this is a '47.

Re: tail lights
A mate of mine has a new Indian bike - not the marque but the country of manufacture. It's a Royal Enfield "Bullet", originally made in Redditch in the UK. The Indian arm of the company (presumably in existence since the colonial days) bought the rights to the name in 1995, and carried on making the Bullet, which it had done since 1956.
He reckons it's a lot of fun, and it reasonably priced. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/mosl...#ixzz3gHudD3VP |

Re: tail lights
My father in law had a RE for years before he died - nothing to do with the bike! I used to ride AJS. Ah, those were the days

Re: tail lights
I just missed out on the last Thruxton sold here. A friend of mine knew the idiot who bought it. Within 6 weeks, the bike didn't exist and he was in hospital. I know it would have been different if I had been able to buy it.

My other Velo was a Clubman Venom which I rebuilt as a road racer. My buddy Roger Bowler won his first ever race riding it at Brands Hatch. It was timed at Snetterton at around 140 mph. Not bad for a pair of 1930 design bikes. Wish I could afford one now, but last time I looked a rebuilt Thruxton was around $25,000 CDN. Sorry everyone, not really Model A related. I just got carried away thinking about the good times when I was into motorcycle racing back in the old days. Last edited by ian Simpson; 07-20-2015 at 10:04 PM. Reason: Got carried away. |
