Default shark fin jacks

I'm trying to locate a shark fin ford jack for my 34, I see some on ebay occasionally. Can someone tell me why some look like they are cast and others look more like stamped steel? Ken

Hi Everyone, Ken, I'm not sure it helps, but the Mar/Apr 2010 issue of the V-8 Times has an article about jacks by Lin Stacey on page 47. The first seven paragraphs address Shark Fin jacks.

Another article from the 1978 Nov/Dec issue may be of interest.

A flash drive with 50 years of back issues (with a searchable index) is available here: https://shop.efv8.org/collections/media

The description of B-17080 in the second article is inaccurate as it obvious that the gears are at the bottom, not at the top, whereas the information in Lin Stacey's article and photos at the top are completely accurate regarding the B-prefix jacks and are based on Ford's engineering records.
