Re: Looking to buy a Model A Ford, need your advice
B. In my opinion, that would be worse than marrying a penniless 100 year old woman in a wheel chair with all four (4) limbs in a plaster cast who is also an alcoholic & desperately in need of hip replacements, knee replacements, new false teeth, & daily steroid medication.
sorry HL, but I would take a model A in ANY condition before I wood accept that.........! fact. |

Just for the record "Rainmaker" Ron was with me and checked my out my closed cab 29. I felt much better when he gave it the thumbs up. Now it is in his shop getting some tweaking. I know the truck is in VERY GOOD HANDS!!

Re: Looking to buy a Model A Ford, need your advice
To all that replied,
Thank you for your expert advice. I would be less than honest if I didn't say that now I am a little 'gun shy' about purchasing a Model A Ford. But still, all your advice is well taken. I should join a club, talk to members, and mooch a test ride in their Model A to get the feel of a Model A. All good advice. The model A I was looking at was listed for sale at $14,000.00. From what I could tell it seemed like a fair price, with hopefully some room to haggle. John |

Re: Looking to buy a Model A Ford, need your advice
I am also very new to Model A's. I haven't bought one yet, but I am actively looking. I've spent weeks researching A's before I jump in with both feet. I scour this forum looking for hidden gems of wisdom. When I find them, I copy them to a Word document so I can easily refer to them when I have my A in my garage. I appreciate all of the advice given in this thread, especially Charlie's extensive list. Could the site admin/moderators combine all of these tips into a sticky that's posted to the top of the forum? It would greatly assist newbies (like me) understand what they're getting into without being overwhelmed with the unknowns.
Thanks! :-) |
