Re: where is the most idiot-proof diagram of terminal box wiring?
Had an amp meter reading backwards. Being the genius of shade tree mechanics that I am, I declared it old and replaced it with a new re-pop one. It read backwards also??? switched the wires around and it read correctly. Removed new re-pop and re-installed original gauge, wiring it correctly. DAH-DAH, it worked properly.
I have a lot of extra, slightly used parts in my garage from performing immediate surgery where all that was needed was a little TLC... Just me? Chap |

some diagrams differ on the location of the yellow/yellow-black wiring leading to the terminal box

just to explain there was no harm meant in my jingles remark. It was indeed an attempt at complimentary humour. Wayne

The poster shown below has a couple of wiring diagrams from Ford that were included in the 'Service Bulletins' along with much more information. Many Model A Parts dealers carry them. They are also directly available from me, see my post (frank55a) on the swap meet page.

I have used the polarity tester too. Just got it, and mine was correct to start with. I always wanted one, and was getting an order together so I thought what the heck. I wonder if ya can really feel the difference driving down the road?

By the way, the service bulletins show a change to the junction box wiring in about January of 1930 to make the ammeter read the discharge current from the ignition system. The black wire was moved from one post to the other. See the service bulletins for details.

Re: where is the most idiot-proof diagram of terminal box wiring?
Hello! I have found many 6v positive to ground diagrams, my model A is 12v negative ground. Doing a complete restoration and re-wire of vehicle. Is there a "correct" diagram available for the proper connections for 12v. The MAFCA one is great but it will not work for my needs. Thanks!
