f-1 bell housing, 4 speed.
Somewhere in my picking thru one of my friends' scrap parts I picked up a bell housing from a 1949 F-1. The owner was having his granny gear 4 speed swapped for a T-5. I passed on the trans but took the bell housing remembering something about using these for later trans swaps. Were there any adapters made for these bell housings?

Re: f-1 bell housing, 4 speed.
Kind of confusing with duplicate threads going.
http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=216941 Don't know if you are asking about the flywheel housing or the hogs head. If he was installing a T5 I would think he would have used the hogs head off his 4-speed unless he used an adapter like the one pictured. Bob |
