model A headed to scrap yard
I decided to take the day off and clean up my backyard a bit and take all of my scrap to recycling. I unloaded and recycling gave me $16.00 and I gave them $12 for the nice aluminum ladder off to the side. I was muy contento as I thought I got a good deal.
On my way home I see a model A in the back of a truck which looks like it's headed for scrap. I do an illegal u-turn and ask him to pull over and he sold me all of the old timey parts for $50. I've always wanted a 1932 ford 5 window coupe and I have WAY too many 1940 willys parts and now I have this, I think I need serious therapy. I have to build this car!! |

If that's what it takes to need therapy, I believe all us Ford Barners is going to need it.

I love the picture of the ladder poking through the roof!! That picture sums up a perfect unexpected bargain day.

Re: model A headed to scrap yard
I would have to agree. I definitely prefer restored cars the way Henry built them but hot rods have their place and can be cool. They give us all a lot of original parts and if done right are cool and bring awareness to our cars and our hobby. The biggest thing though is that a stock car is usually FAR more comfortable, and drivable in most all cases. It my mind it seems like 80-90% of cars that get rodded either become victims of shoddy engineering/planning and workmanship or the owner runs out of money or ambition, or both. The rest are usually not to my taste or standards and very few are truly well built, look great, and drive nicely. It pains me when I see people cut up our beloved A's - no matter how "plentiful" they are. Each to their own though.

Looks like a good match for your pickup. You don't even have to paint it.

Re: model A headed to scrap yard
Now if you can unchop the top. The truck and the 31 look like they have the same paint job.

I vote you box it up with a signed check and send it to Flop. As an old friend used to say, "Highly Restorable"!
