Default Whitewall Tire Sources

I need a pair of 600-16 BF Goodrich Silvertown 3 1/2" whitewalls for my '47 fordor. Coker and others I've looked at charge about $170.00 each for them. Any sources anyone knows of that might be substantially less?

I just installed on my '46 Ford pick up, a set of four Coker 600-16 Radials with white walls. They stand a pinch taller but the handling is unmatched. Braking, and cornering is also improved. They are well worth the extra money.

I have Diamondbacks on my '61. Great people to deal with and an excellent tire.

Bias, schmias.

Danny, Danny, details, details...we're old guys...we don't listen...we don't pay attention...we don't sweat the details...'cause, after all, we're always right, no matter what the question!!! It's never what the man asked, it's always what we think he asked about. We only half hear and our eyes are so bad, we less than half read, too. But it doesn' matter anyway. We're gonna plow right on in!

All I saw was "Tires", so in the best old guy tradition, I voiced my never-to-be-in-doubt opinion.

Of course it was half-cocked. I'm an old guy. What did you expect???

Thank you all for the good faith attempts.

I appreciated HodRodPrimer's pointing out that many responses were, in fact, not responsive to my question and then PhartMan's humorous acknowledgment of such.

In fact, of all of the sources and ideas given, none were any cheaper than Coker Tire for what I need (I can only buy BF Goodrich since I already have two new ones on my car) so, I guess I'll just bite the bullet and buy them.

Thanks again. I knew I could count on numerous responses, albeit many might be non-resonsive.

Yeah, man what a nice '32 truck! I saw that.. High dollar job, looks like. Wow, wonder who owns it? I heard it was some guy down in South Carolina who became a gizillionaire off the advertising royalties.

But wait...Danny, isn't that your truck? Oh, sorry, sorry... Forgot I was supposed to keep that hush-hush.

On a more serious note, I spoke this morning to my buddy, Doug Walker, owner of Joe Smith Early Ford here in Richmond (he moved the business from Atlanta). He has a couple of sources for the Silvertown bias-ply tires you are looking for. And depending upon how quickly you want them, he can save you a few $$$. Doug told me he can save on shipping when he picks them up himself at a show, then sends them out to you. That way, you aren't paying for the shipping from the warehouse to Doug's shop. Call him. Great guy, lots of early V8 parts, too. He's at 804 264-1953. Tell him Pete sent you.
