Default 1931 S/W Fordor Sedan Questions

Please help with the following relative to a 1931 S/W Fordor:
1) Does the front seat use a Seat Adjuster Spring (6" long x 1" OD)?

2) How does the windshield wiper get mounted?

Thank you.

the spring sound about right, the wiper motor is mounted through the header and on the outside a small rubber washer, plated washer, and a special chrome plated nut. when you tighten the nut it pull the motor into the upper interior panel to keep it from moving. it sounds kind of half ass but that is the way it is.

1) Sounds about right. It helps you slide the seat forward when you have raised the handle on the saw-tooth style adjuster.

2) See Area 20 of the Restoration Guidelines for details

"Vacuum Wiper Mounting
Slant Windshield Sedans used an inside mounted wiper held by the shaft collar. A nut (finished to match the wiper) secured the wiper in place."

I have a Slant Window...my seat adjuster is a knurled knob...no spring.
My windshield wiper is mounted on the inside and is vacuum operated. The wiper motor still works and although I daily drive my car since purchasing it in October it has only sprinkled one time... I have the impression that even with a brand new wiper arm and blade the wiper is nearly useless.

Thanks for the responses. This car's front seat has a Saw Tooth Seat Adj Ratchet Assembly with a slightly curved Seat Adj Handle.

Where does the 6" long Seat Adj Spring attach to, so it pulls the seat forward?

Would it use the metal 2"x 2" Seat Clip with two holes for screws somewhere?
