Model B distributor (or alternative ) needed.
Friend of mine here in UK has a B engine but only the housing of the distributor-no innards. Is there anywhere Stateside that sells complete B dissys or complete internals? Have any forumists got an alternative suggestion eg possibly an A dissy with an auto advance mechanism?? All suggestions welcome.

Try Renner's Corner, rennerscorner.com, (734) 428-8424. Don't waste your time with Mickey Mouse short cuts. Be sure to weigh the cost of shipping your core body versus just paying the core charge.

A centrifugal rotors exist - but Ebay puts them quite expensive at $300 range. Likely your best bet to pick up another B distributor. Usually less than $100 on ebay for a good one. (complete)
The above recommendations good too. Joe K

Re: Model B distributor (or alternative ) needed.
Bert's ((800) 321-1931) is probably one of the best Model A suppliers out there from all that I have heard and you should definitely call them. I recommended Renner's Corner ((734) 428-8424) since they specialize in Model B parts and that is what you are looking to find. Just a tip for the Model B distributer. I don't think anyone makes condensers and NOS ones are just too old. Get the best Model A condenser you can find (I think it will be the one that A&L sells, (860) 693-2620). Elongate the hole in the tab on the end so it can be installed in the Model B distributer. Make a short pig tail and attach it to the end of the condenser and run it to the distributer where the original Model B condenser attached.

Re: Model B distributor (or alternative ) needed.
There was a post on here about 6 months ago that talked about model B dist. running retarded when they first came out thus causing the B engine to run hot .

Re: Model B distributor (or alternative ) needed.
I have a late English Model B one available , Looks like the one on the Ford 10 or Anglia engine, it uses normal spark plug wires .and has a weighted advance .
Let me know if you want it John Cochran |
