Default Need procedure to follow for start up after 3-4 yr.nap

It has been maybe 3-4 years since I started the engine in my 35peecup. 39 flathead engine. I need a good safe step by step procedure to follow. Remember, I'm 92 and don't have any useful help. My go to guys have all gone to Heaven and are probably discussing among themselves whether Old Lawson made it. My memory can use some help as well, so essentials only please. I know, check hot battery, all fluids, turn over by hand a few times to make sure it isn't stuck. Spray all cylinders with MMO. All connections bright and shiny, hot wire to coil, spark at plugs. What if anything am I missing? I don't like to use starter fluid unless totally necessary as it washes oil off of the cylinder walls. Thanks for the help guys and gals. Lawson

I'll be up your way in about 3 weeks IF you need my help, I gotta stop and see you anyway to pick up the Mercury stuff (I will be calling you soon to schedule a meet up time for that).

I would drain the gas in tank and carb, the rest you have covered, before turning over to start i would pour a little gas in carb

Drain and clean the carb bowl. Probably bone dry anyway after several years but I don't like the crap that is left.

take out the plugs drain/put in fresh oil and turn over engine with a battery till you have oil pressure. clean points clean /gap plugs and put back in and fill the float bowl in carb thru the vent hole or tube and then start her up!

This is what I would do EXCEPT I would use some MARINE gas with oil mixed in from my two stroke outboard engine and pour that down the carb. VGG trick that Derek uses on cars sitting for umpteen years. Slainte
