Installing new wheel cylinders
I'm putting new wheel cylinders on the 41. Any tips/suggestions on how to prepare them?
I have read a few threads here on dodgy quality from some suppliers so will dismantle them for a quick look see first. What's the best lube to use for re-assembly? Thanks again for responses. |

Re: Installing new wheel cylinders
For re-assembly, you should just use the same kind of
brake fluid that you will be using to fill the system. .

Re: Installing new wheel cylinders
Totally agree
Assemble with the fluid your going to use. And flush out the lines from the old fluid before hooking up the lines!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Installing new wheel cylinders
Be sure to put a few drops of brake fluid on the thread fittings when connecting the lines so they"seat" better. Remember, large dia. bore faces forward. Same with longer brake shoe.
Hope you have speed bleeders. |

Assembly lube. It's a viscous lubricant that is compatable with dot3-dot4 brake fluid. I don't think dot5, but I don't know. Brake fluid will work, but this is the stuff that pro's use. (In my opinion). Karl |

Re: Installing new wheel cylinders
I'll flush the lines before connecting to the new cylinders. Great advice, many thanks
The brake fluid was pretty scungy - color of coffee and some rust as well. I have bought Speed Bleeders based on recommendations from this site and look forward to using them soon. |
