Looking for 1937 Rumble seat cushion dimensions
Hi, so I pulled out the old rumble seat bottom and back that I have been hanging onto for 40 years , ready to get them upholstered.
I noticed the bottom seat seemed a little wide - it did not fit. I thought these were original to the car - however I noticed the factory tag on one of the seats and they are for a model 48. so.....would anyone have the basic dimension's of the bottom and back seat ? I think the odds of finding an original seat may be slim so I may be making one ... any help would be great. thanks |

Re: Looking for 1937 Rumble seat cushion dimensions
I would guess that a '37 seat would be the same as a '39. If you agree, let me know and I will take some measurements of my '39 seat for you.

Re: Looking for 1937 Rumble seat cushion dimensions
I don't know the specific answer, however the deck (rumble) lid is the same 1935-36 coupe/cabriolet and 1937-38 cabriolet. The rumble lid for 1939 has a different size and shape. It is very possible the back spring is the same 1936-38, and likely the 1939 was different.

Re: Looking for 1937 Rumble seat cushion dimensions
According to the LeBaron Bonney catalogue, the '37 rumble back rest spring is the same as the '35-'36 and the '37 rumble bottom spring is the same as the '39. Both are available as reproductions. (My experience with their springs, which are likely made by Snyders, has been excellent.)
