CALL THEM, before you trim and void any warranty, it is suppose to fit?

Re: Moto Meter won't fit new Radiator ?
I recently tried to put a locking cap quail on a new radiator from Brattons. It did not fit . The I.D of the neck is smaller than the O.D of the cap. I had to trim the bosses that hold the brass tabs so it would slip past the top of the neck where the gasket seats.I had to grind the outside edge of each tab boss about .040.

Re: Moto Meter won't fit new Radiator ?
Does your Motometer have adjustable tabs to secure it to the radiator neck and the meter rotates to flip back for access to the radiator neck.
Check for the tabs and loosen with the allen wrench, position the cap and meter correctly, tighten the tabs. If this is not the solution, let me emphasize the previous responses - Don't cut, file, or change anything without talking to Brassworks. They make a quality product and I'm sure the answer is elsewhere. Hope this helps, Steve |

Re: Moto Meter won't fit new Radiator ?
Now that you mentioned this, I do remember doing something with a quail or motometer. I think there was instructions that came with the moto- meter for just this problem. I would definitely not modifier the radiator neck or tabs. Old age must be setting in just can't remember! I guess this doesn't help very much.

Re: Moto Meter won't fit new Radiator ?
Does the new radiator's OVERFLOW TUBE stick up too much. If so, it can be bent out of the way it is just a copper tube.
I did that on a new Bratton's HD radiator 1930-1931 to fit a thermo quail. |
