4o convert that sputtered
First of all, thank you for all the input, most which had been tried in past year with no help. I was convinced by two local flathead builders to once again replace the ballast resisitor and ditch the cheap rero that looks flimsy. I put in a new original style from Carpenter and also wired a jumper with toggle for test drive today. I ran car for about 1 hour on flat roads and temps stayed cool but then it was only 82 out. When my son arrived with truck and tow strap, we started attacking the hills in the area that always made the engine sputter and quit. I never had to flip the toggle or even flip on theback up electric fuel pump.
Question for you electrical engineers, if I leave jumpers in place with toggle under dash but in off position, am I disrupting the ballast resistance performance by altering the actual resisitance by the extra 2 feet of wire leading down from ballast resistor? Now the real test will be on a 90 degree humid day which fatheads hate. Thanks agian Mr.34 |
