Default Model A's between SOP through June 1928...

If any of you have any Model A's from Start Of Production through June, 1928, could you please look at the Steering Column Support Bracket which is attached to the gas tank and if you could tell me three things:

1. Approximate production day or month;

2. Does it have the flat, long or short Choke Rod Bracket attached to the tank;

3. Does the Steering Column Support Bracket, on middle of the back side, does it have a reenforcment rib or not?

I know for sure that the very early tanks had the rib but it seems to have dissapeared sometime before June 1928.

Please refer to my post below if you are not sure of what to look for.

Thanks guys and gals!

Steve,

I thought I was OK with my knowledge of the tanks til I read your " tank studies ",
after reading the paragraph about Mr. Rodger Kauffman and the Dec27, Jan 28 and
Mar 28 date stamps, I'm not so sure.
Your earliest find of May 31, 28 leaves a small gap but lots of tanks and some with
no stamp at all, and I thought all early tanks were NOT stamped.
You have my info on my earliest tank, wish I was more help.

It is strange to us to Dudley unfortunatly there are no known records that we know of in the archives that can answer truthfully this date on the gas tank delima.
