Re: Hinge pin install help
Are the hinge pins reproduction? If so, you may have an oversized set

Re: Hinge pin install help
Snyder's catalog lists the diamater of a standard pin at .233 to .236. Over size is .247 to .250. They also make one for the slant windshield fordor at .279

Re: Hinge pin install help
Standard size hinge pins should fit fine as the hinges wear over the years. Oversized pins are available at parts supplier, but what happens is the part of the hinge that is stationary doesn't enlarge where the hinge part that rotates on the pin gets enlarged. So if you use oversize pins, they will probably fit the worn part, but not the stationary part. Unless the hinges are really worn (like maybe the driver side door), standard pins should work OK. Hope this helps.

Re: Hinge pin install help
I've just done my 28 tudor, and I found the best way to get the pins in was to take the doors off, also the part that's bolted to the body, and with someone holding the door with the hinge resting on a solid surface like an anvil or heavy vice, the pins could be installed easily with a decent hammer. Banging them in while still mounted on the car can cause panel distortion if they're a tight fit.
