Default What color paint for manifolds?

What color should the intake manifold be?

Should the exhaust manifold be painted, if so, what color?

Thanks in advance to all

if you do paint it ONLY Use HIGH TEMP Manifold paint I recommended from Eastwood Manifold paint, it should be a grey tone,. BUT what i would do is clean it really good and then hand rub graphite on to it. That gives a nice tone to it, and if you can even bake in an over it is better.

Good question, I don't know. Looks like the intake is painted, but not the exhaust. Note the black oil fill and pan and other 'bolt-on' items.

Here a fellow is messing with a distrubutor and we have some blocks off to be washer, dried, and painted.

After assembly the churns are hooked up to a 20 hp electric motor via the transmission output shaft, probably second gear and spun up to ? rpm with oil and coolant added see the water hose, valve and inlet dangling under the engine mount, untill the electric motor amps drops, indicating a 'broke-in' ready to run engine.

skip.

I had great success with POR15 manifold paint. Nice grey natural cast look. Been on six years and looks like new.

The intake manifold is painted Ford green, the same as the engine block.

Yep, I've used graphite too, and it looks great. There used to be a graphite based spray made for manifolds, but I haven't seen it in years.

I have been successful with Hirsch cast iron gray high temperature paint on the exhaust manifold and Ford Green acrylic enamel on the intake manifold. I do glass bead both individually, paint them, and then assemble. The gray lasts for several years. Gar Williams
