Coupe Wood Header
I'm working on replacing the lower portion of the wood header in my 31 coupe. I removed what was in place and a friend has fabricated an oak replacement. What I found was made of pine with plywood spacers between the top portion( attached to top fabric) and lower (attached to windshield frame hinge). I also looked at a friends Tudor to see what possibly an original looks like. I didn't pull the top section because I need to get this back together this weekend and didn't want to go any further than necessary. I think everything will go back satisfactorily and be structurally sound for many miles. I'll go back in this winter and replace the remaining section.
Now my question is does anyone have a photo of an original? Also who makes a good similar to original replacement section? |
