Wiring harness
I recently asked a question about the fuel sending unit and gauge on my 39 and based on a photo that I posted along with the question, I was "advised" that the wiring jungle under my dash needed to go.
My question is how to go about picking out a wiring harness to do the job. A knowledgeable local old Ford guy suggested using a 14 circuit harness. I need to know what to look for without spending a restoration budget on a harness. Are any of the harnesses for under $100 any good? What brands are worth considering? Thanks for the help. |

Re: Wiring harness
The only wiring harness you will find for less than $100 is this one: Notice the first two words of the add are "I think"........... . Contact the seller to see how many circuits it has.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/16395588864...4aAtm_EALw_wcB Here's another from a reputable vendor. Call vendor for more info. Considering the time and effort to install a wiring harness you are better buying one that you know fits your car to avoid future frustration and wasted $$. Don't "skimp" on a wiring harness you "think" is good but don't know for sure. https://thirdgenauto.com/product/new...iring-harness/ Narraganset Wiring Harness Company is also excellent and has been around for a very long time. Call them. Top quality. https://www.narragansettreproductions.com/ First decide if you want an original cloth harness or an aftermarket with lots more circuits. Also, do you ever plan to convert you car to 12V? GOOGLE: "1939 Ford Dash wiring harness". Last edited by 19Fordy; 06-13-2022 at 02:53 PM. |

Re: Wiring harness
Buy a Bauer Harness.
You can replace the stock main under dash harness for $160, the lighting harness for $110 (Joes Antique Auto). Money well spent. Chris makes a Harness that fits and you can replace as your budget allows. IMO you won’t save money doing it your self. I looked back at your post and noticed a picture of a dolphin gauge and a cobbled wire nest under dash. If you do not have wiring experience Bauer can build you a custom stock style harness if needed for a reasonable price.

Re: Wiring harness
CA Victoria's recommendation looks excellent. Bauer customer testamonials are excellent also.

Re: Wiring harness
Tyree Harris is my pick. Great guy, great product, great service. Main wiring harness for my 37 pickup $170.00 just to give you an idea.
