I don't know why its there but when they went to 12 volts in 56 it changed in the color striping from green and brown to orange and yellow. They are not interchangeable as I found out trying to make my 55's work even though the whole sending unit was identical. The things we learn, Tim

I will mate. Probably be a few weeks away yet. I've still to get my replacement unit off "Old Mate". And then I'll need to find a gap in the priorities list - which is pretty long at the moment.
