Default Extended Warranty

I finally answered the telemarketing call for vehicle warranty sales and the gentleman with the heavy Indian accent asked for my vehicle make and model. When I told him 1930 Ford AA he hung up on me?

I usually ask them "which vehicle are we talking about?" That usually flusters them a bit.

Last time I played their game the caller called me names that made me blush. Some of his language I've never heard before.

I overheard my son take a call from bathroom remodeler salesman. Evidently when asked how many bathrooms, my son said none inside. We have one toilet outside but it’s a two holer. He feigned a little defensive when the caller questioned him. Is there something wrong with having an outhouse? he asked. Well ugh er no you have a nice day sir. They haven’t called back.

LOL, yesterday I answered and said I had a 1931 Ford Expedition, figuring “Station Wagon” might confuse a younger generation. There was a very brief moment of silence and contemplation, then the spammer said “do you have any vehicles 2010 or newer?” I said “you called me and that you knew my warranty was about to expire—shouldn’t you know that already”? “CLICK” they hung up of course.

Can you imagine having a job where everyone hangs up on you? I couldn't take that much rejection.

That much rejection would only make me feel like I was at home with my wife.

A friend of mine is a retired federal meat inspector. It dawned on me one day, although everyone would agree it is a necessary service, no one was ever "happy" to see him show up. I asked him about it once," ahh well, you get used to it after a while".
