Re: Gets warm and quits running?
Karl, thanks, but I really wanted to know the part numbers of those condensers, especially the Mallory one. Regards, Kevin.

I used to work for Delco. Here's one of my favorite t-shirts from back in the day. I was around for some of those shoots with CY. Lives up in Grass Valley CA....

Re: Gets warm and quits running?
Update on this thread. "Cape Man" and I talked last evening, it seems the culprit was actually the ignition switch! The switch was replaced and after various driving situations with no further issues it seems to have cured that ailment. Now the brakes; master cylinder failure, rear wheel cylinder leaking is a whole different story, those have also been repaired and so far so good. I just wanted to let everyone know the final solution and thank everyone for the help.

Re: Gets warm and quits running?
Hard to imagine how the ignition switch could be related to heat?? A short that failed when after being on for a while that diminished when turned off and allowed to cool down??? New one on me and hope the fix is permanent!

I know ill get negative comments but JMO onthe condenser/coil prob, as long as ur not an originalist, condenser and points R eliminated & very reliable w a quality electronic distributor & r available as replacement for a '47 AB engine. Also allows for elimination of old style coil and uses a modern external V8 coil 6 or 12 volt replacement also very reliable if a quality Mfgr. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/m...yABEgJ8a_D_BwE

Re: Gets warm and quits running?
It seemed that the car ran for awhile and perhaps it was a bump or a hill or whatever that made the ignition switch act up. Unless it was something severe it was a coincidence that as soon as it seemed to get warmed up and running the issue happened, the car never got far from home. I had the same reaction as most of you. The standard parts were changed thinking those same old issues and it kept happening, fortunately he kept checking and finally found the culprit..... and it was ignition!!!!
