Default OT solid copper head gasket quetion

I am not on HAMB so I will ask here. What is the minimum thickness and type of copper used to make a solid copper head gasket? (dead soft?) This will be used for a Chevrolet over head valve conversion using an aluminum adapter plate on a Model T but figured I would have a better chance of getting the info here. I know some guys use the solid copper gaskets on their conversions. I plan on making it myself.
Thanks

1. Charlie Yapp of Scalded Dog parts used to sell solid copper gaskets.

As far as thickness ... from his site. It is not a solid copper gasket but compressed thickness is .042.

http://www.secretsofspeed.com/gaskets

Flathead - Cylinder Head Gasket $45.95 each IN STOCK
Fits Model A and B engines with up to 4" bore. Compression ratio up to 8:1 CR.
This is the "BEST" brand head gasket #573-G - carbon and arimid fiber over inner steel core with steel fire rings around the combustion chamber. Coated with a polymer to seal on first run.
This type of head gasket is the only head gasket we recommend. It last longer and leaks less.
Compresses to about .042". Recommended Torque is 55 foot-pounds. Higher torque settings can warp cylinders. If required, go higher only when used with a Torque Plate.

Thank you. I did do some reading last night and got some information to mull over. Because of how the adapter plate was made using the stock type Chev 4 cylinder head gasket will not work, the fire rings are unsupported on part of the bore.

To put the Model A into this discussion, I am also doing some valve work on one of Jern Thunderbolt overhead conversions for a Model A.

I like & have had good luck with the "best" gasket . I like the copper crush gasket with copper coat on both sides . the solid copper needs to have "o" rings in the block ..

I also have used .060 solid copper and asked a few years back about a .125 thick solid copper . It was very expensive. I googled copper head gasket once and found a shop in so ca that would custom fit a solid copper gasket to my head.

I have a copper head gasket as a spacer between two B6051-C gaskets. The pistons come up quite high and the head is not undercut for the pistons. The head is a Winfield crows foot. Anyhow, the copper head gasket came from Clark Copper Gasket. http://clarkcopperheadgaskets.com/
They will make gaskets in what ever thickness you need.

I used the chev head one time. I made my own adapter plate. Use .060 soft copper and O ringed the plate for steel wire. Used a gasket from http://jernthunderbolt.com/Model%20A%20.html for the head side.

But was not that happy with the power. The head has a lot of restrictions.
In the end I made my own head.

George;
Nice! Using the Chevrolet head keeps my creative juices flowing because every time I go to do part of the job I have to think how to make it work.
