Default 40 Ford Electric Clock

I’ve had this nice 40 electric clock for more than 20 years. Sent it off and had it cleaned and serviced a couple years ago. So today I decided I would install it in my 40 Tudor as opposed to looking at it on the shelf. Rather than keeping it powered up all the time, I installed a push/pull switch hidden under the dash to turn it off when I’m not using the car to save the battery and wear and tear on the clock.

Nice installation, Ken. Don't let Kubarth see that! Those, of course, are rare. You have one, Kube has one (or two), and a guy up in the Pacific Northwest have the only three electrics I've ever heard of.

Now you have to drive it every 12 hours, nice. Would have been hard pressed to find a man around here to explain the need for an electric clock to his wife.

Thanks for posting those photos of the rarest of 1940 Ford items.
Never saw one before.
Just curious. Where did you find it all those many years ago.?

Found it at a swap meet. The guy had a box full of 40 parts some NOS and a 40 glovebox door with the clock in it. When I looked at the back of the clock I knew exactly what it was.Had to buy the whole box or nothing. He obviously had no clue.

Thanks Ken, for the reply. Sure was a great find. I bet the original owner must have been "well off" to afford such an accessory.

That IS a nice piece to have for your car. I was fortunate to find a wind-up version at Pate Swap Meet last year in very nice, working condition. It's hard enough to find those, but the electric unit is most desirable for our '40 Fords.
Congrats!
