Default Atlas Propeller Radiator Ornament Questions

How is the propeller held on? Does anyone have photos of it disassembled?
Also, does anyone know of parts currently remanufactured for this ornament? I saw on the Model T site where Bob Scherzer used to make reproductions, but he passed on last year. Does anyone else reproduce parts for propeller radiator ornaments? Thanks.

It's junk, I think you should just donate it to my collection of radiator ornaments.

This is used in conjunction with a motor meter. The motor meter is held to the cap buy a brass nut on the inside of the cap. Remove that nut then gently remove the complete motor meter assembly from the cap. at this time look at the gasket between the bottom of the motor meter and the cap replace it if necessary. Than slide the motor meter through the hole in the airplane propeller, put the gasket on the bottom push the motor meter through the cap install the nut and tighten everything down. I don't know how to post the pictures in a reply. if you want some picture send me an email at [email protected]

Thanks for the replies. The picture I posted is an image from the internet, not mine. Mine needs repairs, which I plan to do. I was referring not to installing the ornament on the radiator cap with a Motometer, but how the ornament itself is assembled. In particular how the propeller is held on. Mine is modified in that area, I think. I see how the light bulb plug is removed and how the bracket is attached to the radial motor, but the propeller is held on somehow and I could really use some pictures of how this was done. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Removing the two screws allows the back cover to come off, revealing the bolt & bearing inside the propeller hub. Over on VFF there is a photo of the one with the light in the hub, totally different design.

I have seen these someplace. Meaning they still sell them. For the life of me I can not recall where though.

There were two different reproduction made of this radiator ornament. There was a great one made in limited quantities many years back that was expensive and a cheaper one made in somewhat recent years that was...well... cheaper.

I know who you are referring to Joop. What happened to his patterns and tooling?
