Upholstery patterns
I am brand new to this, just bought a 1929 tudor that needs to have the interior replaced. I am looking for the patterns for the 2 front seats and the rear seat and back, this would make it a lot easier to cut out the cloth to the right size. Does anyone know if something like this is available?
Thanks for any help. |

Re: Upholstery patterns
I don't intend this to be insulting at all, but have you heard of Lebaron Bonny interiors? Just put a kit in my '29 tudor and it looks fantastic.

I guess a couple more things to answer specifically what you queried is how accurate, or authentic are you looking for? Generally speaking, if you have a seat that has a cover on it, then you have your pattern. Just use a razor blade to slit the seams. If not, a roll of paint masking paper and a few yards of clear plastic will let you 'template out' the bare springs. Next is the part where you will need to sew everything. I don't know if you have, --or have access to a commercial sewing machine but that is gonna be crucial too as a home type unit is not going to make it through the first row of pleats. On the other hand, if you just need something clean to sit on and authenticity is of no real importance, then a trip to your local Wal*Mart or fabric store can probably yield some "hides from little Nauga's", some batting, a staple gun & staples, and some hog rings where you can cover everything and be riding in a day. Good luck in whichever direction you choose and welcome to the 'barn. . |

Re: Upholstery patterns
Hopefully in 10 years he’s done something. Original post in 2011!
But I’ve had stuff around longer than that waiting on “spirit to move me” |

Last time they signed in was Jan of 2019! Does not mean they haven't looked, but just not signed in.

Re: Upholstery patterns
Just keeping things alive by posting in 2022. I’ve watched a few YouTube videos, had a 1929 singer sewing machine given to me and made a trip to hobby lobby for some material. Gonna try my hand at covering some Model A pickup seat springs. What could go wrong, right?
