Re: 1934 Vineyard Green
In about May 1936 purchasers of the pickup (Model 67) and the big truck (Model 51) could purchase the Deluxe Package. This came with a chrome grille, chrome windshield surround, chrome rear view mirror, drivers sun visor, dual wipers, dual horns with both with chrome bell and horn, cigar lighter and ash tray, dome light, and sliding back window - all for $35! The 1936 chrome grille has different part numbers for the painted an chromed versions. There is only one part number for the 1935 radiator grille shell, so I'm inclined to think that any 1935 chromed truck grilles are one-off or custom, not a factory option unlike those in 1936.
I have to admit that the deluxe package makes for a really nice looing truck! Wish I could purchase all those parts for $35 today!! |

Re: 1934 Vineyard Green
My '34 pickup was painted with "vineyard green" from PPG acrylic enamel. Had Jud Irish mix paint in SW and it was "matched" with PPG. That is what I did. Is it FORD Correct? I really do not know.

Is that picture of the ‘35 Phaeton under restoration wearing TCP Global Formula IM1470? John |

Re: 1934 Vineyard Green
In my reseach---limited--- only 1936 and 1937 Ford Pickups had the Deluxe option that Model51 mentions. And could it also be on the Model 51 -- I guess so.

Re: 1934 Vineyard Green
John,
Sorry, it is not a paint from TCP Global, but rather custom mixed by a Michigan PPG dealer. I have used TCP global as a source for other difficult-to-match paint colors such as those in the interiors of period Fords and have been very satisfied with the results. |

Re: 1934 Vineyard Green
Thanks David,
I will try a custom mix with a local PPG/NAPA near me. Another Gentleman on this forum sent me the formula for his truck. I will try sampling that as well. Finishing up maple syrup season here so looks like perhaps next week. Also in Michigan. John |

Re: 1934 Vineyard Green
I'm mid-way through restoration of a 1934 Pickup. After removing many layers of black paint found original which appeared to be Vineyard Green. My research found several codes and several shades for the same code. Two tries with TCP Global didn't get what I felt was the color I was after. Finally, decided on Chromabase DS135K with SPI Universal Clearcoat.
