Default Coating on 8BA Pistons?

I did a little search here, didn't find any discussion. I've looked at these new pistons which are RC. I think that means Rebuilder's Choice. What is that coating, dark coat on the skirts? Is there any reason a guy would want to avoid that? Looking at these because the size I need doesn't seem real common. Thanks!

The coating is an antifriction material designed to coat the cylinder bores, If I remember correctly from what I was told at the S.E.M.A show it is a form Of Teflon, which makes sense to help create less friction and extend engine life, one can have parts coated, such as bearing surfaces etc. My late Father whom was an Engineer made Piston skirt Buttons and some type of added rings also Engine Bearings of Teflon back in the sixties all the time using the race tracks for testing of various parts, but the auto manufactures would not convert to them due to cost and longevity .

Something such as Teflon is what I figured. Wonder if it scrapes right off the skirt.
