windshield pattern

Does any one know where I could find a windshield pattern for my 30 coupe. I chcked a site that was supposed to have had one but wasn't there.

If your not in a big hurry ,I plan on going to other building and getting my windsheild frame out and dismanteling it my window is cracked but im useing it for a pattern also.. about 2 weeks maybe someone else will chime in may coupe is a 29 but I think they are the same

I'll have to look and see if I still have the old windshield I replace from the 1930 AA. You could use it for a pattern.

You could make one from cardboard.
Be sure to allow for the "wrap around" of the cork setting tape plus about 1/16 more.
It takes about an hour, but at least you know it'll fit...unless the glass guy goofs.
Remember corrogated cardboard grows longer under damp humid conditions.

I took a scrap piece of 1/8 inch scrap Luann plywood paneling, layed my windshield frame on top of it, and drew the lines, to the inside of the frame. I then added a 1/4 (or 1/2 I cant remember) inch line, all round, cut it out with a Jig Saw.

Then I took the frame apart to insert it, in the frame and had to cut it a little to make it fit just a hair loose, left the pattern in the frame. My glass shop appreciated the pattern, cut the Glass to my Pattern, and had to do minor grinding to make it fit. They used glass setting tape, the thickness of old cloth electrical tape and also used black windshield sealer so as to stop water leaks. When I left the shop the screws were inserted by the cutter, all set to install.

I had them cut a piece of glass that was lightly Tinted through out. My cost was $85.00 without the Pattern it would have been $125.00
I now store the pattern in the garage attic for a future windshield or if some one else needs to use it.

Now if only we could permanently delete the words "tudor & coupe" from the upper left drawing ...and that chart would stop causing trouble.

I still find it easier making a windshield pattern off the frame.
Hint...use a piece of course sandpaper to fine tune the edges of the cardboard, better than trying to shave off slivers.

Thanks for putting up the print,The dimensions I found for 1930 coupe ,43 11/16 x 14, From Model A miseries and Cures. If Tom Wesenberg has his old windshield maybe I could use it as a pattern. Otherwise I will make my own.

HA! I just saw that. Tudor & Coupe appear in two places - and the one on the left drawing is the window for the "commercial jobs." I know as this is the drawing I brought when I had the glass man make my side windows for the truck.

Hard to edit the past though. Maybe in the book "1984." We just need a "memory hole."
