Bob C,

Thanks for posting the photo from taillampking.com

Yes it is, but as I indicated above the photo suggests to me that it is painted on the underside rather than cast in red glass (I've done that myself with a clear lens). I'm following up with them to make sure as I prefer those cast in red glass like those back in the day.

I did not repeat myself, I asked some questions and replied to what you posted. I did look at the site and now have learned something new.

you could always send a email and ask if it is glass or painted

Thanks for your tips.

I've used the special paint for faded plastic tail lamps and it works pretty well, but it is sort of dull compared to one made of red glass.

I did overlook those on taillampking.com on my first try. I'll contact them although in their photo the lens appears to be painted on the inside rather than cast in red glass as the raised section looks to be clear on the edge.

jhowes,

That's the name of the game, I agree, but a couple of the above fall short of being helpful. I have a simple rule regarding these forums. If I can't contribute in a positive manner, I don't add my two cents.

Maybe you should take your own advice.

Is there an ignore button on here?

A friend of mine had one of those red lenses he used on the right side of his 32 roadster. These do exist.

I think everyone should read this thread from start to finish... It's a perfect example of how things can be taken out of context and how beefs get built over something ridiculous - like taillight lenses.

1. Guy is looking for something.
2. Another guy tries to help but needs some clarification.
3. That request for clarification insults the original guy cuz it was taken out of context.
4. He fires back.
5. Other's pile on.

And the next thing ya know, you have people pissed off at each other over a taillight thread... on the internet...

I'm hoping folks will read this and see just how ridiculous it all is?
