Default 1941 weatherstripping

I have looked and looked and can’t find a solid answer so here goes. I am replacing the door weatherstripping on my 2 door sedan. I think it gets installed to the door rather than the body but need confirmation before it is glued on. Thanks in advance, Dave

I have a '41 Coupe. The weather stripping is installed on the body, not the door. One strip runs from the door post forward and curves down to the first door hinge. Then on the inner part of the door the weatherstrip runs from the hinge straight down to the bottom of the door. Then on the outer part of the door where the latch pin is there is a small piece of strip at the bottom of the door. It is called "the lower back edge door seal."
There are also 2 door bumpers installed on the body where the door shuts.
If you have a C&G Early Ford Parts Catalog the piece locations are shown in the Door section, pages 274 to 276.

I’m back to being a little confused. I looked at the C&G catalog online and it shows the seals being put on the doors. Could ‘41 be different than ‘46-‘48?

i installed mine like the directions from Steele showed, but I had to call and find out what they were, their not easy to understand on the little scrap of paper instructions. The top goes on the body running down to the hinge's, the other piece goes on the door and runs to bottom of door where the short curved piece goes at bottom of door. hope I didn't confuse you but that what they told me and that's the way I installed mine.Mine is a 41 Business Coupe. Al

Thanks Al. That’s kind of where I was headed. Top and hinge piece on the body, the rear latch piece and little zig zag piece on the door. I spoke to a friend tonight and he said his ‘40 has everything on the body. I told him the arrangement listed above and he thought it would be OK. Thanks for sharing what Steele says. Dave
