Trouble reading instruction from Antique Engine rebuilding to make a engine crate for shipping engine. Help Please Thanks John

What exactly do you need to know? Looks like one box is for a short block

I had a short block shipped from him recently. ill snap a picture when i get home from work. Im sure its the same principle for either the long block or short block. except i know the shortblock crate is for the engine to be shipped laying on its side.

I recently got rid of my long block crate. I think you are over thinking what is needed. Rich gives you the size needed to cover the motor and the curved drawings are to support the front and rear. Mine was bolted to the bottom bell housing holes and the front to the front motor mount holes. I can send you a photo with the supports mounted on the motor if you need it.
